Solution
Therapy Partners has implemented MedShare for BlackBerry for their health care workers by equipping them with BlackBerry 8830s which are linked to the MedShare back office system. The Always On feature of MedShare for BlackBerry allows the health care workers to operate in rural settings where wireless data services are not 100% available.

Customer Profile
The Continuing Care e-Health Council is a division of the Ontario Ministry of Health that works closely with the Ontario e-Health Secretariat to enhance patient and client care by delivering more efficient tools for health care providers.

Business Situation
The Continuing Care e-Health Council began to review strategies and technology solutions that would minimize the administrative burden of Ontario's current home care Intake Assessment process and allow for greater standardization. Thus, the solution is to shift the focus of the current system from paper-work to care-work.

Solution
MedShare developed the Common Intake Assessment Tool (CIAT), standardizing the definitions and processes in capturing client information in order to allow sharing of information across the province.
