Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (LRMC) is the largest American hospital outside the United States. Located in Germany adjacent to Ramstein Air Base, LRMC has 110 physicians and 250 nurses among more than 2,700 military and civilian staff. Access to effective communication services is a priority in this busy medical facility that receives over 400 patients each week from throughout Europe and the Middle East
MedShare deployed a customized version of Microsoft's communication and collaboration solution, SharePoint Portal Server 2003 for LRMC. The Command Group and Information Management Division at LRMC had aggressive timelines; what is typically a 12 week implementation was deployed by the MedShare team in just over 4 weeks.

The LRMC provides critical document and content management capabilities to an organization that has extensive files and documents of a private and sensitive nature. The LRMC portal provides full document and file check-in/check-out features ensuring that ongoing changes and emendations of critical information is tracked and logged with version history. The Portal also facilitates collaboration between disparate business units and healthcare staff allowing correct and timely decisions to be made in various operational aspects of the Medical Centre.
